Oladapo Bakare is a Professor of Chemistry at Howard University where he currently serves as Chair of the Department of Chemistry. Oladapo received the BS and MS degrees in Chemistry from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He completed his PhD degree in Chemistry at the University of Hong Kong followed by a postdoctoral research fellowship in organic/medicinal chemistry at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA. Professor Bakare moved to Howard University, Washington DC in 2000, and his research has focused on design, synthesis and biological studies of bioactive small organic molecules as enzyme inhibitors and potential anticancer agents. He has published several research articles in the area drug development for prostate cancer.
